Season 1 was an original concept that endured and succeeded on its own, which cannot be the case with subsequent seasons. The best thing about Season 2 is the acting. The cast is absolutely great! Where Squid Game 2 falls short is in its refusal to resolve ANY of the many threads this season. There are many ways to build tension, but the laziest is when you simply refuse to answer all the questions you’ve raised for an entire season, leaving that to be addressed in Season 3. It’s pretty obvious that the show is now much less interested in telling a satisfying story and more invested in expanding the franchise into a multi-season subscription retention machine.
