It tells the story of three very different families competing to buy the same 1920s Spanish-style mansion that they believe will solve all their problems. Denis Leary and Ray Romano starred in the Ice Age series (2002-present). I was surprised to see the show rated so low, but it made more sense after seeing many reviews explaining why they couldn’t get past the first episode. The series is a slow-paced, mystery story that may not be to everyone’s taste. I personally found it to be very funny and entertaining, with a Liz Feldman tone that I like. I really love the cast and everyone’s performances. I was initially unsure about Ray Romano due to my own prejudices (I personally couldn’t separate him from Every Loves Raymond), but that went away pretty quickly. The various characters all have their own side stories that create a tangled web of chaos that gradually, though not completely, unravels. By the last episode I was already quite invested in the story, although I found out the main twist very early on. I’m not mad about it though. I’d love to see more of this show and I really hope they get a second season.
