This animated anthology series features original stories set in the worlds of iconic video games. Video games have made a huge leap onto the screen, and we’re celebrating the genre with a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations into films and shows. Clive Standen reprises his voice role as Demetrius Titus, the main character of the video game Space Marine 2. The episode takes place after the events of the game. Referenced on Film Junk Podcast: Episode 973: The Reach (2024). As a long-time fan of Tim Miller’s other show, Love Death + Robots, I was really excited. Then I started to notice that many of the stories couldn’t hold my attention for too long. They would end right before something interesting happened. I think the show would benefit from focusing more on the concepts and ideas it was adapting, rather than showcasing how groundbreaking and revolutionary these games are, and not watching the show. .I liked LDR because it used the short time it had to give to incredible world building and characters you can get attached to, but the episodes here barely do that. Otherwise the animation is gorgeous and the sound is great. I want to wait for the full set to come out before I can give my opinion.
