I have to agree with many other reviewers, it’s a great production with a good atmosphere and Eddie Redmayne does a great job as the Jackal, but the female lead ruins it all. It’s a complete mistake to use an actor who, regardless of the situation, can’t show any facial emotion and almost comes close to acting, perhaps to compensate for not understanding or underestimating the character. Obviously, the character is supposed to be confident and experienced, but her portrayal is a sassy “I know best” woman who, for example, doesn’t appreciate evidence carrying a suitcase through a shared office. She’s just so annoying and incredible.
