After the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, also known as the Penguin, takes over the reins of Gotham’s criminal underworld. Aside from a bat signal in the final frame of the season finale, we never got ours. Robert Pattinson’s cameo in “Penguin.” In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: Where the hell was Batman? Colin Farrell fought hard to get his smoking version of The Penguin in Batman (2022), but he didn’t make it. In his own series, however, the character is depicted as a casual smoker who likes cigars. The DC Studios logo is placed in a seedy Gotham alley. An umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. The Graham Norton Show stars: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). The first episode is a direct sequel to Matt Reeves’ film. Batman and I imagine those who haven’t seen the latter are a bit lost. But I watched Batman a while back, and that show did an admirable job of quickly bringing me back to where the movie left off without getting bogged down in a didactic recap. It also perfectly captures the aesthetic and dark tone of the film, although the show has many more clever moments than the film. As in Batman, Colin Farrell does an excellent job of portraying the Penguin as a stereotypical mob “street guy”:" rude, rude, animalistic, and quick to violence; but also smart, cunning, and able to read people. The character may have nothing to do with the comic book version, but he’s interesting in his own right. I have my doubts that the show will give the Penguin a teenage sidekick; and I don’t know if The Penguin’s plot is enough to last a whole season. But so far, it’s off to a great start.
