The plot is about a seemingly ordinary family hiding a dark secret: they are vampires. They decide not to drink blood despite their natural desires, but one day the truth is revealed. Kelly Macdonald is strong as Helen Radley. Bo Bragason is also strong as Clara Radley. Damian Lewis and the rest of the cast are quite vague and not really present. The casting is a huge mistake. The plot is about a vampire family that no longer drinks human blood. The problem is that there is no plot. It’s more like a few days in the life of a boring vampire family. We jump from scene to scene, nothing really happens. There are constant scenes where people just look at each other or stare at a wall. Nothing happens and we are not given any feelings. People just stand or sit and do nothing for a few seconds. None of the characters, with the exception of Helen and Clara, really have any personality. Probably one of the worst characters I’ve seen in a long time is Will, the pseudo-hippie vampire leader, also played by Damian Lewis. The character is not very well-developed, and Lewis’s second-rate acting skills don’t make up for it. So we’ve got mostly bad actors, badly cast, a weak script, and amateur videography and direction. Then we said that this is not only a horror movie, but also a comedy. I just finished watching it and honestly I don’t remember anything even remotely funny happening in the entire show. It’s almost funny how bad this movie is. Maybe that’s what they mean? Ultimately, the movie makes no sense. It doesn’t matter at all. It’s nothing more than a documentary about boring middle-class vampires going about their daily lives in a boring way. I said, “Finally, thank God, it’s over.” I give it a 2, and I think that’s generous.
